A new bathroom..........

It's be nearly 10 days since I have done a new post and that is because we have been renovating our bathroom...........finally!  For you to get the full effect I will post some before, during and then after photos.

This bathroom had black and white tiles from floor to ceiling.  Black and white can be so nice, but not in this case!

I know, you're thinking, that poor woman, how did she manage in a bathroom like that for so long..........

uh, those tiles, am I ever happy to see them gone!

as we all know with renos, it has to get worse before it gets better.....

my hubby, Duncan working away!

And now.........the much anticipated after photos......cue the music and welcome to my new bathroom!

I took my husband and I just over 4 days to do this renos.  I don't know about you but I am exhausted, think I will go have a hot bath!  Happy Friday everyone!  Trish xo

My dining room..........etc.

Right now the only room in my house that really gives me a buzz is the kitchen.  So I decided I needed to do some work on the dining room so that I could get excited about that space also.  Now it looks a little softer and more inviting!

Also, I got these wonderful treasures, vintage kitchen tools and a vintage lunch box, in the mail today that I had ordered from The Growers Daughter.........If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should, it's fabulous!

We haven't started our bathroom renos yet.  My husband promises next week for sure!  I know patience is a virtue, but I am not feeling very virtuous at the moment.  Fingers crossed I will be blogging out it soon!   Happy Wednesday everyone xo

and a few more little changes.........

So I am still doing a bit of tweeking in kitchen and remembered that I had this box so I thought why not use it. I love the way it looks with the silver and white.

I also have been wanting a chalk board and considered buying one, but then thought, why not make one.  I had this empty frame that I made quite some time and as well as little frame. Bought the slate (okay its not real slate, but a decent facsimile) at wallmart........cheap as chips by the way.  Cut them to size and voila, instant chalk boards!

What to do next on this snowy, blowy day:)

Some new touches..........

I was so inspired by Chrissy's gorgeous new kitchen that I did a bit of twigging here and there in my kitchen.  I added a couple of open white shelves and now it feels a little brighter.........

one of my purchases from the antique market in Scotland

White tulips and fresh thyme........a touch of spring on the cold winter day.
Happy Thursday everyone :)

UK charm and other stuff...........

We have returned from our trip overseas and I am just getting back in to normal life again.  Laundry, cleaning and all that good stuff.  Here are a few snap shots of the places we visited and an antique market.  I could have bought a ton of stuff there if it would fit in my suitcase........no such luck, just picked up a couple of little treasures that I am yet to put somewhere in my house.

I did buy one of these.......a scale that is.........not the town below:)

Anstruthers, famous for its fish and chips

These pretty little seaside villages are so charming and inspiring.  I will get back to blogging about my little farm house soon.  We have decided to tackle that bathroom...........can't wait!  Before I leave you for today, here are a couple of shots from Spain.  Very different from Scotland but equally as beautiful, I have always loved the look of a Mediterranean coast.

The shot above I took from inside a small cave while on a hike above the town of Denia.

getting a bit of sun on my face while leaning against a palm tree..........Happy New Year everyone!
