Seeking Paris Inspiration..........

So it has been a few weeks since my last post.  I have been lacking in inspiration due the ever lasting winter that we have had.  Well the warm temperatures have finally arrived and I was out in the garden a couple of days ago planting tulips and pansies for some much need gardening therapy!

But, more importantly than that, I am off to Paris today.  Yes, that is Paris, France where I plan on visiting flea markets, vintages shops, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees and more in the hopes of finding some wonderful treasures to bring home and to give me the inspiration I need.

So, enough of this, back to packing........au revoir mes amis:)

Signs of hope!

All of us bloggers in southern Ontario woke up to a ton of snow..........ugh!  The calendar tells us its spring but you wouldn't know it by looking out the window this morning.

But there are signs of hope.  I managed to take some photos of these lovely little snow drops before the snow has covered them up.  Let's hope they survive and reappear when the sun shines again.

Happy Wednesday!

Is it spring yet............

There seems to be a general theme to my posts these days as I am craving to get out into the garden.  I did notice yesterday that some bulbs are starting to poke their little heads through the somewhat still frozen ground.

In spite of its tardy arrival I am still doing some indoor gardening.  I have a new project on the go, growing herbs and a variety of sprouts.  If all goes well I  hope to sell some in the spring.  I will keep you posted on my progress.

I also made a trip to Oakville the other day to visit the store that Chrissy's husband sells his furniture from.   While there, I picked up a few treasures to brighten up an otherwise gloomy day.

Just love these little chalkboard signs, may have to go back and get more!

and these little burlap sacks.......cute as a button!

these are supposed to be cloth cocktail napkins, but I can assure, no one will be wiping their mouths with them.  I have a few other ideas for them instead.

and finally this vintage inspired bottle opener, the perfect addition to my country kitchen

Day one of my sprout growing, check back in a few days as they should be looking much different.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Daisy, daisy..............

At this time of the year I cannot get enough of fresh flowers.  I found this cute tool box and turned it into another flower box in the house.

and who doesnt love daisies, they are such a happy flower:)

Aside from that the forsythia branches that I brought in are blooming...........YAY,  spring is coming,
I can feel it!

Happy daisy days!

An indoor garden.........

My favourite room in the house still is and I think always will be the kitchen.  I have been growing herbs on the window sill all winter but I decided to spruce it up a bit by adding a little widow box made from recycled wood.  The licence plate on it I got at a local antique store, I think it used to be a moped plate.  Just a touch of spring on a cold February day...........

I also brought in some forsythia branches in the hopes that they may sprout for another touch of spring indoors....

Aside from the moped plate I also picked up this sign when shopping with my good friend Chrissy......I just love the way it looks, a perfect addition to my kitchen.

Have a good week everyone xo

Who's ready for spring........

I was saying just yesterday that although I have enjoyed this winter I am ready for it to be over and spring to come.  I cant wait to get out into my garden and I love the smell of the ground thawing.  Temperatures are set to rise again later this week and hopefully it will thaw most of the white stuff that is still covering the ground.  In the mean time enjoy these photos of the flowers yet to come..........

Happy Valentines Day !

Flea Market Finds

I decided to go junking at a local flea market on Sunday and found these few little treasures.  I loved these jars, at $3 each they were a steal and they say........made in Canada!

and white tulips are the perfect thing to pick you up on a snowy white
day in February!

I also picked up these old school lockers for a coat closet.  We have no foyer, or mudroom or a front hall closet for that matter.  So, I thought why not try and find some old lockers, paint them up and well, bob's your uncle.........as the saying goes.  They were bright orange and black but I painted them off white to blend in.  I love the contrast to the number plates and they now hide all of our coats, hats, mitts, boots..........well, you get the picture.

Happy Tuesday! xo
