I was waiting for the fabric store to open yesterday and had a few minutes to kill so I went into an antique store and found the most fabulous chair ever. Its called a gentlemen's chair, my husband mused as to who was going to sit in it............ha ha. Anyway, it was in need of recovering which I did today and now it sits in the corner of my dining room near the wood stove. A perfect reading corner.........
Before........
During, my cat thinks its for him........
and now the after..........
Happy Monday everyone.........xo

Oh! I love the chair and how you changed it. I have one very similar and have been scared to paint the wood but now I'm going to! It's so pretty and what a perfect spot for it.
Can you tell us how you recovered the fabric - I want to recover mine but there's no way to get the old fabric off.
Thanks and have a great evening ~
Well what a great find and it looks fantastic. We can now see who it really is for... ;-)
Wow!! You did an incredible job! I love it.
XO,
Jane
Trish There are few things that I love more than a great redo. This is a wonderful makeover. Can you believe what a brush covered in white paint can do?

~*~LOVE your chair!! Wow it is gorgeous!! Hugs,Rachel~*~*
thanks for all the kind words ladies.......Sarah, firstly, never be afraid of painting wood, as June says, its amazing what a brush covered in white paint can do! as for the fabric, I didnt remove the old fabric, I just covered right over it. the chairs is quite old so pulling it all apart would have been difficult. just go for it and let us all know how you make out!
Trish
Good job!!! Great find my dear...don;t you just love burlap!! Tell Duncan he is not allowed to sit in it!!!! x0
Hi Trish,
Thanks! Sorry to be so ignorant and a pain...did you just pull the fabric tight across then staple it and cover with trim? I have two other chairs where the cushions don't come off but I'm afraid that the staples will pull out when someone sits on them. These .99 goodwill chairs are causing me more headache then some of the big redos I've done!
hey Sarah.......thats exactly what I did and I also used hot glue in some spots. its amazing how secure the fabric becomes with hot glue. I also glued the trim and then put the tacks over that........good luck and keep me posted xo
Oh Felix, I miss that cat. WOW WOW WOW Mom, the before and after pics of this chair are amazing. You really turned something drab into FAB!!! LOVE IT!
